As the CEO of Ipsos SMX, Andrew Leary oversees Ipsos’ Global Social Media Practice. An experienced digital innovator, Andrew is leading Ipsos into a new era by blending advancements in technology and a cultural shift toward social interaction to create engaging, relevant, and contextualized research solutions for Ipsos clients throughout the world. Prior to SMX, Andrew was a founding member of Ipsos’ Global Innovation Center.Prior to his work at Ipsos, Andrew was a Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer at Passenger, where he led the company in creating online customer communities for brands such as Apple, Coke, Disney, Nike and P&G. Before founding Passenger, Andrew was Managing Partner at StreetWise Concepts & Culture, a premier word-of-mouth marketing agency where he oversaw community development and advocacy programs, serving clients such as Activision, Fox, Nokia and Mars, while also managing a strategic relationship with Nielsen Entertainment to support their ongoing teen research.Energized by new challenges, Andrew has also served as a business consultant for Coopers & Lybrand and was a practicing attorney for Crowe & Chappel, a talent agent for ICM, a record executive for Warner Music and founder of Style365.com.Andrew is a member of the Massachusetts Bar, an alumnus of Indiana University School of Business, New England School of Law and the Stanford Graduate School of Business Executive Program.

Menaka brings over 12 years’ experience focused in the digital and social media space, and is a true pioneer in online communities. Before joining Ipsos, Menaka worked at Passenger Inc., where she developed the foundational processes and best practices for online community strategy, engagement and management. During her time at Passenger, she oversaw the building and managing of successful private online communities used for consumer insights for clients including Apple, Starbucks, Nike, Procter and Gamble and Coca-Cola. Her past experience was focused in the online and alternative marketing space working with entertainment, media and gaming clients, including setting up some of the first public online communities for Showtime, Time Warner and Martha Stewart Omnimedia. She has a BA in Economics and Communications from New York University and an MBA in Finance from the University of San Francisco.

Alina mentors countries’ client service teams on all Ipsos SMX products and platforms, supporting them in pitches, providing strategic counsel for community design and continued oversight. Alina joined Ipsos in 2007 as a qualitative researcher and focused on online research. Since 2013 she has overseen the development of the SMX practice in Russia and joined the global team in 2016.

Sandro studied macroeconomics and started to work in digital research in 2005 – his new passion to this day. He started his career with a full service online research agency focused on innovation before heading up sales in the German speaking territory for a leading global panel company in 2007. He joined Ipsos in the winter of 2008 to create the online research expertise unit in Germany and accelerate online research and digital research methodologies. Since 2012 he has overseen the development of both the SMX practice in Europe and the local subsidiary of the Global Innovation Center at Ipsos – to translate new and innovative methodologies from the digital and mobile space into consumer insights for our clients.

Cate has a deep passion for global thinking as well as a long career in Social Media Marketing, from launching Silicon Valley Startups to being the first person hired at FOX Interactive Media. She ran International Client Solutions and Creative Services for MySpace (owned by FOX); launched and led UK- comms agency Way To Blue in the US, and launched her own globally sourced, sustainable luxury label in Paris. Upon her return to the US, Cate has held senior executive strategy roles for 20th Century Fox (International Theatrical Digital Marketing) as a long term consultant, and a similar in-house role at Sony Pictures Entertainment (also International Theatrical Digital Marketing).

Cate has a BA in Philosophy from the University of Tennessee; an MA in Psychology from Pepperdine University; a PhD (ABD) in Multi-cultural Clinical Psychology from the University of Massachusetts; and additionally has completed graduate coursework in Independent Film at UCLA.

Bernice Klaassen is Ipsos’ Regional Director for Digital in APAC. He leads Ipsos’ regional digital strategy efforts, overseeing development of innovative digital platforms and digital consumer understanding that help our clients grow their business in this digital, and increasingly mobile, world. With over 15 years experience in digital research, of which 6 years have been in APAC, Bernice has witnessed vast changes in the global digital landscape.Before moving to Ipsos in 2011, Bernice was one of TNS’ global directors for Digital, looking after the global Digital Consumer understanding business, as well as the Online Qualitative and Community practice. Bernice studied Social & Organizational psychology at Leiden University in The Netherlands, with a special focus on Consumer Behavior and Behavioral Economics.

Andrea Hiranaka is Practice Lead for Ipsos SMX Brazil and digital qual manager at Ipsos UU Brazil, responsible for implementation and best practices of innovative methodologies (social intelligence, communities, mobile qual and bulletin boards). Prior to joining Ipsos, Andrea developed social listening and online qual projects since 2008 in one of the first specialized agencies in Brazil. Her research experience is spread among the industries of technology, financial services, healthcare and FMCG. Andrea graduated with a degree in Business Intelligence from ESPM-SP and Public Relations from the University of Sao Paulo (USP).

Jennifer helps clients leverage social intelligence and community-based tools for research. She’s worked as a strategic partner to clients in a wide range of industries including Financial Services, Technology, Entertainment, Consumer Packaged Goods and Retail. Prior to joining Ipsos, she managed advertising and events for Lexus and Toyota (at Team One and Saatchi & Saatchi), and consulted for start-ups in social analytics, media/advertising and technology. Jennifer holds a B.A. in Advertising and Public Relations from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
